Best time to travel
Travelling in Sossusvlei is great all year round due to the warm climate in Namibia. However, those who are planning a visit to Sossusvlei in the hot African summer months from November to March, must reckon with extreme heat. The temperature can climb to 48 degrees Celsius during these months. That heat makes dune climbing dunes very unpleasant. On trips to Namibia, it is highly recommended to have a large amount of water when travelling in Sossusvlei.
